You can either delete a patron from the patron's detail page or directly from the patron search. If you want to delete several patrons at once, e.g. an entire patron group with expired patrons, you can also use the patron search.
- First, find the patron you want to delete by filling in the "Search for an individual patron" field or the "Search for a patron group" field.
- Select the patron by placing a checkmark in the checkbox at the far left of the row. If all the patrons found should be deleted, you can select the topmost checkbox, which automatically selects all the patrons.
- Click the "Delete" button.
4. Click "Delete" in the box that appears.
Force deletion of patrons
If an attempt is made to delete a patron who meets one of the criteria below, a dialog box is displayed explaining why the patron cannot be deleted. If you still want to delete the patron, it is possible to force the deletion of a patron.
1. Find the patrons you want to delete.
2. Select the patrons you want to delete in the table.
3. Press the Delete button.
4. If some patrons cannot be deleted, a dialog box is displayed with one or more of the following outstanding items:
- Active loans
- Active bookings
- Active fees over the value "Trivial threshold for fee amount when deleting a patron in DKK"
- Active replacements
- Active interlibrary loans
5. Select which of the outstanding items you want to ignore, and thereby force the deletion of patrons:
- Active loans (the loans will be set to ”Returned” and the materials to ”Discarded”)
- Active bookings (bookings will be deleted)
- Active fees with a total amount below the entered value (the fees will be adjusted down to 0)
- Active replacements with a total amount below the entered value (the replacements will be adjusted down to 0)
6. Press the ”Force deletion” button.
7. If some patrons could not be deleted, they will still appear as selected in the table.
NOTE! If you delete patrons with active loans, and thereby discard the associated materials, you will not be informed about whether it is the last material in circulation for the bibliographic record in question. To be informed about this, you should discard the materials as described under Discard materials.
