Under Catalogue > Materials, the user can discard materials that have been searched for, after which the materials change status to "Discarded".
A material cannot be discarded if it has active reservations, bookings, or unpaid compensations attached to it.
Materials are discarded as follows:
- Go to Catalogue >Materials
- Search for materials
- Select the materials using the checkbox
- Click "Discard" (bottom right)
- You are now presented with a warning dialog asking whether you are sure the materials should be discarded. If you are about to discard the last material in circulation for a bibliographic record, you will be informed of this. Materials with the status "Lost", "Discarded", "Closed interlibrary loan", and "Loaned with compensation" are not regarded as materials in circulation.
- Click "OK".
- The material's status is now set to "Discarded".
Materials can also be discarded directly from a material's detail view or via the patron's loan tab.
Note! If you have set up discarding rules, you can search for these by selecting "More filters" and setting the value "Marked for discarding" to "Yes". Read more under Discarding rules.
