Active patron
A patron is considered active when the patron's latest activity date is updated. This happens when:
- Checking out, renewing or checking in materials
- Creating a reservation or booking
- Logging in to the library's website, self-service machine or other related services (SIP2, NCIP, CMS API)
- Using access control to enter the library during unstaffed opening hours
- Using e-resources (e.g. Filmstriben)
Note: Changes made by library staff to a patron profile do not count as activity and do not update the latest activity date.
Inactive patron
An inactive patron is a patron who has not had any activity within a given period. You can search for patrons based on their latest activity date in the patron search using the "Not active since" field.
Delete inactive patrons
The library can configure automatic deletion of inactive patrons under Admin > General settings > Patrons by specifying "Automatically delete patrons after X days without activity".
Exceptions:
- Patrons with outstanding items will never be deleted automatically, even if they are inactive. This applies to patrons with:
- Active loans
- Active interlibrary loans or bookings
- Unpaid balances
- Patrons of the "Library" type will not be deleted automatically.
