Cicero has a built-in task system that contains both manually and automatically created tasks.
Under Tasks > Tasks you can see an overview of the tasks at your library. A task can be linked to a specific user, library and/or work area responsible for resolving the task. A user can be linked to a specific work area under the Work areas tab (see Work areas for tasks).
Managing tasks
On the task page, tasks with the status "Open" and "In progress" that are linked to the same work area as the logged-in user are shown by default. However, it is possible to change this view using the search criteria at the top of the page. If you are linked to one or more work areas, these can be automatically selected by clicking the "Select work areas" button .
In the table of tasks, the user can manage a task in the following ways:
-
Actions directly in the table:
- Change the task's status directly in the status column.
- Add yourself as responsible for the task in the responsible column.
- Actions performed directly in the table must be completed by clicking "Save" at the bottom of the page.
-
Actions on several tasks at once
- Select the desired tasks using the checkbox on the left side of the table
- Click "Edit" (or "Delete" if you want to delete all the selected tasks)
- Enter the desired values
- Finish with "Save"
-
Detailed editing of a single task
- Clicking on a task in the table opens the task's detail page (see Create and edit task).
Create and edit task
Tasks can either be created automatically based on specific events in Cicero or created manually. You can read more about automatically created tasks under Work areas for tasks.
Tasks are created and edited manually as follows:
- Select an existing task in the table or click "Create task"
- Add the desired values to the task:
- Name and description
- Responsible: The responsibility for a task can be users linked to a specific work area, a specific branch or a specific user.
- Status: A task has a status (Open, In progress, Closed), a priority (High, Medium, Low) and possibly also a deadline.
- Finish with "Save"
Note! The values are purely information for the users of Cicero. Cicero thus does not do anything to ensure that, for example, deadlines or similar are met.
