How do I add more than one new material?
If you have two or more materials that need to be registered on the same bibliographic record, you can create several materials in Cicero at the same time.
There are two ways this can be done:
1. Enable 'Create another material' at the top of the screen. In that case, when you save the first one, you will get a new creation form for the same bibliographic record, where material group and placement are already filled in with the same information as the first material. The only thing you need to add is the next material's material number.
Creating ”Random material numbers”
This procedure is used for materials that do not have barcodes or RFID tags.
- Make sure you are in the Catalogue tab under Bibliographic Records.
- Search for the bibliographic record you want to register holdings on, for example by searching for title, ISBN number or author.
- Open the bibliographic record by clicking on it.
- Go to the Materials tab and click 'Create material’.
- Enable ”Create multiple materials”.
- In the ”Number” field, enter the number of materials you want to create.
- In the ”Number sequence” field, ”Random material numbers” must be selected.
- A number can no longer be entered in the material number field.
- Fill in the details for the material.
- If you want to print labels for all newly created materials when you click ”Create material”, tick the ”Print label” checkbox.
- Click ”Create material”.
