Under Checkout & check-in > Remote check-in it is possible to check in a material on behalf of a patron - regardless of which library the material belongs to.
For this to be possible, both your library and the library that owns the material must use the NNCIP protocol. In Cicero, this is selected under Admin > General settings > Interlibrary loan > Interlibrary loan protocol, where the value must be set to "Norsk fjernlånsintegration".
Remote check-in works as follows:
- Scan/enter the material number.
- Select the library that owns the material (this is typically shown on the label, barcode or RFID chip).
- One of the statuses below is then displayed, indicating whether the material belongs to the selected library.
The material is registered at the library
Press "Check in material" to check in, after which a route plan is printed. The library that owns the material is now informed that the material is located with you and that you are sending the material to them.
If the patron wants a check-in receipt, "Print receipt" must be enabled at the top of the page before the material is checked in.
Note! If the material is currently on interlibrary loan to another library, this library will be shown under "On loan to library".
Not possible to determine whether the material is registered at the library
In some cases, it cannot be determined whether the material is registered at the selected library. In these cases, it is still possible to check in the material in the same way as mentioned above, but it is more uncertain whether the library receives this information. Therefore, consider contacting the library.
The material is not registered at the library
In this case, the material does not belong to the selected library. Try selecting another library.
