This release note describes updates to Cicero Mobile released with version 1.11.2. The target audience is super users and system administrators.
New Functionality
FBS-23200 Passwords for patrons for use in Cicero Surf and Cicero Slide, as well as CMS API
It is now possible to use passwords instead of PINs for patron login in Cicero Surf and Cicero Slide, as well as CMS API. The difference between a PIN and a password is the requirements for these - see details in Erstellen und zurücksetzen des Benutzerpassworts
The configuration and use of passwords in Surf and Slide is described in In Cicero einloggen and Benutzeranleitung für Cicero Slide. To use passwords in Surf, the library must also contact Cicero Service Desk and request to have this login method enabled.
If the configuration "Anmeldepasswörter für Kund*innen" is set in Mobile under Admin->Allgemeine Einstellungen->Kund*innen, it is possible for a user to send a notification to the patron from the patron's detail page with a link where the patron can create or reset their password themselves. Creating/resetting a password requires that Cicero is able to send a notification to the patron.
If the configuration is not enabled, the patron can only change their password by clicking "Forgot password?" on the login page in Surf.
Note that the configuration is made at agency level, and therefore applies to all branches.
It is not possible to view or change the password directly in Mobile, and passwords are not used in Mobile.
For CMS API, a new endpoint has been added where the patron can authenticate with either PIN or password: /external/{agencyid}/patrons/authenticate/v10
Passwords for patrons can be created/changed/reset through CMS API. Note that new functionality in CMS API must be implemented by the library's CMS provider to be used.
