Complete reservation in the detail page
A reservation is completed on the reservation detail page.
1. Select patron
Either by scanning the patron no. or clicking the "Search patron" icon
If an incomplete name or number is searched for, "Search patron" opens automatically and performs a search, in which it is possible to find the patron by name/address. Here, the truncation wildcard can also be used by adding * after the entered number, if the entire number is not known.
2. Select delivery branch
This is filled in automatically with the selected patron's collection branch. If the patron is not associated with a collection branch, the logged-in branch is automatically selected instead.
3. Select reservation type
- Normal
- Parallel
- Series
- Control reservation
See a description of the different reservation types here: Reservation types
4. It is possible to manage the following details for each individual record/material in the reservation:
- Interest date: It is possible to specify an interest period if it is only relevant for the title to be available within a certain date. Reservations are automatically deleted when the interest date is overdue, and a notification can be sent to the patron about this.
- Activation date: By adding an activation date, the reservation cannot be fulfilled until the activation date is reached. However, the reservation will follow the queue even if the activation date has not yet been reached. If a reservation that has not yet reached the activation date is no. 1 in the reservation queue, the reservation that is next in the queue will be fulfilled instead.
- Number of materials
- Note: For internal use
-
Remove the record/material from the reservation by clicking
on the right side of the table
5. The reservation is created by clicking "Create reservation"
⚠️ Error messages
If it is not possible to create a reservation, a warning icon will be shown next to the record/material that is causing the error. The error message is shown by hovering the mouse/finger over the icon.
In some cases, it is possible for the user to force a reservation, provided the user has permission to do so. A forced reservation is not fulfilled unless the circumstances that made the forcing necessary change.
