This article explains how searching authority records works, so that you are able to make the most precise searches.

Search
The search does not simply search for an authority record's title/name, but searches most values in an authority record.
If searches consist of several words separated by spaces, the order of the words is irrelevant. A search for 'Jesper Hansen' will, for example, give the same result as a search for 'Hansen Jesper'.
The search result must match all the words in the search. The words do not, however, need to be in their full length - a search for 'Jes' will, for example, also find results that contain the value 'Jesper'. The specified part of the value must, however, start with the search term - i.e. a search for, for example, 'Per' does NOT find results that contain the value 'Jesper'.
Refined search
It is possible to use quotation marks (" ") in the search if you are interested in an exact match.
Example: A search for "Jesper Hansen" finds results that contain the value 'Jesper Hansen', but not the values 'Hansen, Jesper', 'Jesper Møller Hansen', etc.
This can be useful if a search without quotation marks gave too many results.
