Measures to support accessibility
The following efforts are taken to ensure accessibility of Cicero Surf:
- External evaluation of accessibility according to WCAG 2.1 level AA
- Integrated accessibility checklist in our development process.
- Conduct manual and automatic tests to validate accessibility.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Cicero Surf is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA apart from limitations mentioned in Limitations and alternatives.
Compliance status based on guidelines from the Danish Agency for Digital Government
The Danish Agency for Digital Government assess accessibility based on the standard EN 301 549, The European standard for digital accessibility. This standard directly references WCAG 2.1 level AA.
Based on guidelines from the Danish Agency for Digital Government the compliance status of the standard EN 301 549 can be:
- Website is fully compliant with the standard
- Website is partly compliant with the standard (comply with most requirements)
- Website is not compliant with the standard (does not comply with most requirements)
The compliance status is calculated based on a monitoring score where fully compliant requires a monitoring score of at least 476 out of 500.
Cicero Surf has received a monitoring score of 483 and is therefore fully compliant with the Danish Agency for Digital Government’s requirements for web accessibility.
Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Cicero Surf, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions.
Known limitations for Cicero Surf:
- Keyboard interaction: It is not possible to select a material in the inspiration carrousel on the front-page using keyboard interaction.
- Tooltip: When a curser is hovering over an element with a tooltip it is not possible to hide the tooltip without moving the curser.
